Description

A force driving credit card transaction costs is increased rewards for loyalty programs. The funding for points/miles/cash rewards and other benefits is generally drawn from the fees paid on retail credit card transactions. This research provides a summary of publicly available information on different dimensions of loyalty programs, transaction costs and card fees, views of key market participants as to where the consumer interest lies, and focus group evidence of how typical Canadian consumers may view contemplated changes to credit card and rewards programs.
